1）桩的单位面积承载力较高， 由于其属挤土桩，桩打人后其周围的土层被挤密，从而提高地基承载力；
2）桩身质量易于保证和检查；适用于水下施工；桩身砼的密度大，抗腐蚀性能强；施工工效高；因其打入桩的施工工序较灌注桩简单，工效也高；
3）预制桩单价较灌注桩高。预制桩的配筋是根据搬运、吊装和压人桩时的应力设计的，远超过正常工作荷载的要求，用钢量大，接桩时，还需增加相关费用；
4）锤击和振动法下沉的预制桩施工时，震动噪音大，影响周围环境，不宜在城市建筑物密集的地区使用，一般需改为静压桩机进行施工；
5）预制方桩是挤土桩，施工时易引起周围地面隆起，有时还会引起已就位邻桩上浮；
6）受起吊设备能力的限制，单节桩的长度不能过长，一般为10余米，长桩需接桩时，接头处形成薄弱环节，如不能确保全桩长的垂直度，则将降低桩的承载能力，甚至还会在打桩时出现断桩；
7）不易穿透较厚的坚硬地层，当坚硬地层下仍存在需穿过的软弱层时，则需辅以其他施工措施，如采用预钻孔（常用的引孔方法）等。
